When she was thirteen, Ashley Matte locked herself in her bedroom and taught herself to play the guitar. While her smooth bluesy sounds are deeply influenced by her favorites, Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt, and John Mayer.
Ashley has developed her own uniqueness for performing and a talent for songwriting. When she moved to San Diego nearly 5 years ago, Ashley began playing immediately at local venues in Pacific Beach and popular places downtown.
She quickly gathered a strong following for her music and as a result, Coach House Records made her an offer she could not refuse--her very own record deal. Since finishing her album "Colors" which has been sold in stores nation-wide, Ashley has shared the stage with national acts such as Sophie B. Hawkins, Gavin Degraw, Chris Isaak, Dishwalla, and Linda Perry. She has also shared her music with many charities to help fund community programs needed throughout southern California.
Ashley is currently in the studio finishing up her new album, No Number No Address, which will be out in stores March 2009.
Ashley revisits her debut album Colors in a whole new light. Backed by her band, Colors "Live" captures Ashley at her best, in the spotlight playing music.
